Date:          June 3 / 2001
Location:       Manitoba, Canada
Location Specifics:    Highway # 59, 2 Kms north of Fey Road
Closest Town:    Grand Marais, Manitoba
Closest Road:    Provincial Trunk Highway # 59

Events Observed:

The time was evening...about 9:10 pm. It was still quite light out due to the long daylight hours. A beautiful sunset was just beginning to show brilliant colours. The location is a wide S-turn in the highway... thus I could approach in my car and not be seen easily until the last moment. Suddenly I saw a tall (about 9 Feet) dark brown figure standing upright by the side of the highway on the shoulder. He appeared to be covered in fur. He was on the west side. As soon as he saw the car he ran West into the bush..in leaping strides. I would say I saw him for about 10 seconds. I was about 300 Feet from the figure. He had long arms and a large stride. The amazing thing was the fact he ran up-right. I was convinced he was a Sasquatch from pictures I had seen before and I knew that there had been other sighting in this location.
